Christoph’s background is in theoretical physics, where he developed optimized software solutions for high-performance computing on specialized hardware. Christoph has been part of the Ethereum project since 2014 as Lead Tester, securing and shaping the core protocol while working on the backend of the C++ client.
With prestigious clients including Siemens and Bahn AG, Simon has been deploying enterprise solutions for the last 20 years as Project Manager, Developer, and Software Architect. Simon is now leading the development of slock.it products, enforcing Ethereum smart contracts into the physical world.
Jork brings experience from industry and strategic consulting to the team. He’s also an aerospace engineer with an additional MBA, and he makes rocket science look simple.
As an applied mathematician, Steffen started his career in the automotive industry as a method and software developer for mathematical and simulation software. With his many years of experience in product development and implementation of software projects, he is responsible for the products of slock.it as well as for strategic partner projects.

The slock.it team has grown to over 30 employees, with additional expansion across sales, marketing, and business development.
Incubed was announced at Event Horizon Berlin, where we also won the ‘Top Horizon’ award.
Our MVP for the USN was launched worldwide, and the first use cases for the economy of things were discovered and tested.
We secured $2m USD in seed funding to start developing the USN and the economy of things. We then announced our corporate partnership with Siemens AG, deploying a modified version of TheDAO framework to support social good initiatives for Siemens.
At Devcon 1, we revealed the world’s first secure lock connected to the blockchain, and dubbed this the ‘slock’. Also, TheDAO, a framework for creating decentralised autonomous organisations, was announced.
slock.it was founded by brothers Christoph and Simon Jentzsch and their business partner, Stephan Tual. Their first office: a small room on the upper floor of the Jentzschs’ parents’ house in Mittweida, Saxony. Their goal: connect the internet of things to the blockchain.
